A Restorative Yoga practice encourages you to consciously surrender tension to the forces of gravity, to keep relaxing and softening throughout the practice to let go of tension. This practice encourages you to be in a clear and dynamic relationship with your environment, so that you are present to this softening of stress and tension, present to what may be revealed to you from letting go. Restorative Yoga offers you an opportunity to sense and feel where the source of your stress lies, revealing what is obscured by your stress, so you can process it to change. You come to know who you are, where you are going and what it is you want to do and be. You become open to your highest potential!

A restorative practice is ideal for people looking for deep relaxation/meditation or for those with specific needs such as: insomnia; fatigue; high blood pressure; injury; recovering from illness or surgery. Each class is catered to the current needs of every student.

Cathie McGill has been teaching Yoga & Meditation therapeutically for 19 years and has various Diplomas and Certificates in complimentary health & bodywork spanning over 25 years. She has a diploma in Yoga and has an integrative, intuitive, authentic approach.

Turning within through Restorative Yoga and Yoga Nidra

Interested in some precious downtime for the body and mind? Slow down and turn within on Saturday July 18th at 2:30pm with Restorative Yoga and Yoga Nidra (the Yoga of sleep).

Restorative Yoga uses gentle movement, props and intentional breath work to facilitate deep release in the connective tissue and to soothe the nervous system.

Yoga Nidra, a deeply relaxing practice that generates a state of conscious sleep, or active rest, is a great antidote for our otherwise turbo-charged lifestyles. It is as close to sleep as you can be in a meditative state, without actually falling asleep. As it works directly on the energetic body, it is often cited that one 20 minute session of Yoga Nidra is equivalent to 3 hours of deep restorative sleep.

Want to find out more? Then come and join in! You’ll discover how to create your own restorative yoga props out of everyday items so you can practice at home or while traveling, as well as learn 10 simple steps to practice Yoga Nidra on your own. The early bird cost of the special 2-hour class is $30 if paid prior to July 15th 2015. Price increases after this date to $36.

*Money will be fully refunded if cancellation is made prior to Thursday July15, absolutely no refunds after this date.
